Apply and update heading styles consistently
Google describes selecting text and using Format and Paragraph styles to apply Normal text, Title, Subtitle, or Heading 1 through 6. To change a style’s appearance, format an example and choose Update heading to match. Other text with that style updates as well. This gives a long document a consistent system instead of requiring each heading to be manually adjusted whenever the design changes.
Refresh the contents after changing the structure
Insert a table of contents through the page elements menu and select the desired appearance. Its entries link to the document headings. Additional options control visible levels and indentation, though some formatting controls are limited in Pageless. After adding headings, refresh the contents so the links match the current document. Save preferred styles as defaults when they should be reused, and check that heading levels describe the actual hierarchy.
