About DocumentFlow Desk

Who We Are

DocumentFlow Desk is an independent digital news publication producing daily reporting, explainers, analysis and interviews for an international English-speaking audience. We are not owned by, affiliated with, or financed by any political party, government body, corporation or advocacy group. Editorial decisions are made by our editors — never by advertisers, sponsors, or the people we write about.

What We Cover

Our reporting spans the subjects that most affect daily life, including:

  • World & Politics — conflicts, diplomacy, elections and policy that cross borders.
  • Business & Economy — markets, companies, jobs, inflation and the money behind the headlines.
  • Technology — artificial intelligence, platforms, cybersecurity, devices and digital life.
  • Science & Environment — research, space, climate, health and the natural world.
  • Culture & Entertainment — film, music, books, sport and the conversations shaping the internet.
  • Explainers & Guides — clear, practical background on complex or fast-moving stories.

Our Mission

News moves quickly, and most people do not have time to assemble it from a dozen feeds. Our aim is to make the stories that matter genuinely understandable: checked before publication, written in plain language, and updated as facts develop. We would rather be right than first.

Who We Write For

DocumentFlow Desk is written for general readers — across North America, the United Kingdom, Europe and beyond — who want dependable reporting without jargon, hype or partisan framing. Whether you scan the homepage over coffee or settle into a full explainer, every article is built to stand on its own.

Editorial Principles

  • Accuracy before speed — we verify before we publish.
  • Fairness — we seek a response from people and organisations named in critical coverage.
  • Transparency — we attribute information and show readers how we know what we know.
  • Independence — coverage is never sold, traded or shaped by commercial relationships.
  • Accountability — we correct mistakes openly and promptly.

How We Report and Edit

Every story is assigned, researched and reviewed by an editor before it appears. Editors examine facts, sourcing, structure, fairness, legal risk and readability. Headlines are written to describe the story honestly rather than to inflate it, and we keep reporting, analysis and opinion clearly separated and labelled so readers always know which one they are reading.

Sourcing

We prefer on-the-record, named sourcing so readers can judge credibility for themselves. Where anonymity is granted — for instance, to shield someone from retaliation — we explain the reason in the article itself, and at least one editor knows the source's identity.

Fact-Checking and Corrections

Accuracy is a process rather than a promise. If we get something wrong, we fix it quickly and say so. Significant corrections are noted directly on the article so readers can see what changed and when. Older articles remain available as a record of what we reported at the time, with corrections appended where necessary.

Independence, Funding and Advertising

DocumentFlow Desk is sustained through reader support, advertising and partnerships. Advertising and sponsored material, where present, are clearly labelled and produced separately from our reporters. Advertisers, sponsors and funders receive no advance notice of our coverage and have no influence over our conclusions.

Privacy and Data

We gather only as much reader data as we reasonably need to publish and protect the site, and we do not sell personal information. How analytics, cookies and your rights are handled is set out in our Privacy Policy.

Community and Comments

Reader discussion, where available, is moderated to keep it lawful, relevant and civil. Disagreement is welcome; hate speech, harassment, spam and deliberate misinformation are not. Publishing a comment does not make DocumentFlow Desk its author.

Tips, Documents and Story Ideas

Many of our strongest stories begin with a reader. If you hold information, documents, photographs or simply an idea, we would like to hear from you — you may contact us anonymously, and we will protect your identity wherever we can. Tips can be sent to tips@DocumentFlow Desk.

Working With Us

We are always glad to hear from reporters, editors, fact-checkers, designers and engineers who care about accurate, readable journalism. Pitches and commissioned contributions are welcome, and freelance work is held to the same editorial standards as our staff reporting.
