Prepare the shared page together
A one on one meeting template helps a manager and team member balance immediate concerns with longer term goals. Atlassian's Confluence guide recommends adding the date and time before sharing the page with the other participant. Both people can contribute questions, discussion topics and relevant updates beforehand. Reviewing previous notes also helps identify unfinished work or subjects that deserve another conversation.
Record commitments during the discussion
Use the page together during the meeting to capture comments and action items without losing the thread of the conversation. Topics can include progress toward goals, obstacles, feedback and development opportunities. Afterward, review the recorded commitments and check off actions as they are completed. Create a new page from the template for the next meeting, using what was learned to prepare further questions. A consistent note structure preserves useful context while still leaving room for an open conversation tailored to the two participants.
