Mark the relevant passage or area

Open the PDF in Edge and use the toolbar to select a pen or highlighter. The guide describes controls for pen color and thickness, along with an eraser for unwanted drawing strokes. For text highlighting, choose a suitable color and drag across the passage. These marks draw attention to existing material; they should not be mistaken for changing the PDF’s original wording.

Add an explanation and save the reviewed document

A highlighted passage can have an associated comment containing text or a link. Confirm the comment with its checkmark, then use the save control to retain the PDF changes. For an online file, this may involve downloading the marked copy. Review the saved document before sending it so the intended notes are included. Fillable PDF fields are a separate feature: a page without editable fields can still support visual annotations and highlights.
