Manage Suggested Edits in Google Docs

Give reviewers the ability to suggest

Google explains that Commenter or Editor access allows a person to suggest changes. Select Suggesting from the editing mode control, or request suitable access when it is unavailable. New text appears in another color and deleted wording is crossed out. A comment can explain the reason for the suggestion, keeping the proposed change and its context together instead of leaving reviewers to infer the intention.

Review proposals before accepting them

A suggestion can be accepted or rejected individually. Tools and Review suggested edits also provides a preview and commands for accepting or rejecting all proposals. Inspect the effect before using a bulk decision, especially in a shared draft with several reviewers. Google also documents that Office tracked changes become suggestions when converted into Docs, and Docs suggestions become tracked changes when converted to Office, which is useful when a review crosses applications.
